• QED CONFERENCE CENTRE GARDEN, TREFOREST

    2004 – 2005

    Client: Welsh Development Agency (WDA)

This small site lies between the River Taff and the conference centre attached to the WDA’s regional offices. When the conference centre was completed in 2003 this was just an area of disturbed grass and flood bund.

This space now provides delegates with a paved ‘milling around’ area opening out from the main conference room, plus paths and seating overlooking the river and the wooded valley sides beyond.

Bronwen Thomas Landscape Architect carried out all stages of the landscape design, from sketch proposals through to successful completion of the contract and maintenance.

One of three sketch options presented to the client for the treatment of the area. This became the basis of the design.
