• COED CRAIG RUPERRA ENTRANCE, DRAETHEN

    2008

    Client: The Ruperra Trust

The woodland, in hills south of Caerphilly, is part of the designed landscape of the ruined Ruperra Castle and includes much of wildlife interest. It is owned and managed by a local trust and is open to the public.

When funding became available for improving access to the woodland Bronwen Thomas was commissioned to look at the best ways to achieve this. Improvements concentrated on the main entrance, making it more welcoming and accessible.

Bronwen Thomas also devised a strategy for robust timber signage throughout the woodland estate and was involved with artists providing seating and features around a newly dug pond.
